When did you send the email?. I haven't seen an email from you.

Whats the web site? Doing the price match is simple enough. Once you find a cheaper price just give us a call. We will then go from there.

I gave them a call and they're currently out of stock. For us to do a 110% price match both parties have to have the scope in stock. You can either wait for them to get one in or you can give us a call and ask for our best price. If your not in a hurry I would wait then do the 110% price match. You could save some money this way.

Read our policies and procedures on the 110% price match here.

Unfortunately I can not match that price unless we are doing the 110% price match.

Yeah they told me the same thing. If you want us to do the 110% price match on the 44mm. You will have to wait for them to get one in.

If you did the 110% price match on the 50mm. I could let you have one for: $490.67     Thats with free shipping also.

I personally don't care for the 110% guarantee game....If price is the most important consideration then the dealer with the lowest cost the first time gets the biz.  Give 'em your best shot the first time.

It's no game for us and a little more complicated than "give 'em your best shot".  Authorized dealers have to advertise at MAP (minimum advertised price) mandated by the manufacturers.  It's there way of protecting the "little guys" that can't compete.  If we don't advertise at the price they tell us to then they won't sell us or support us in any way.

Chris is right about the MAP.  I hear dealers complaining about internet deals quite often, they have complained to the scopes companies too.  That is why the MAP is now enforced by most optic manufactures.  This ties the hands of the volume dealers somewhat.  I am against MAP's & long for the way it used to be

halcon, I have done the same thing twice with the Zeiss Conquest.  I think Chris missed the point.  When I call around to various dealers, I give them one shot at the deal and I buy it from the guy who gives me the best price the first time.  I think the dealer who does this deserves the sell the first time around.

Halcon the last email I sent you was asking you to send me a link to the web page where they were selling the 50mm. I had an order going for you for the two 50mm plex's. I was waiting for your reply with the web page link. As soon as I received the link I could of got your information and we would of been done. At the time we were trading emails I was having trouble with the available link in this thread.

I'm a bit surprised that SWFA would go to such lengths to satisfy the customer who's only concern is price.  I have been a lurker/poster on this site for several months and find the information posted by the members and the knowledge of the staff to have much more value than haggling over a couple bucks.  I can understand the guy's interest in trying to get the best deal but he seems to be a bit too belligerent to accommodate him, especially knowing he will show no loyalty on future purchases and is likely to badmouth the site, the service or the product the moment something goes slightly wrong or he finds the same scope priced lower elsewhere in some year end clearance bin.  Brady/Chris, I think you've done everything you can to help, if it was me, I'd politely send him on his way.

I would modify the post by Grubbs to take the "game" out of it for the dealer, i.e. Grubbs calls Dealer A who quotes $400, then calls Dealers B, C, D and E who give their prices. In this case Dealer C was the lowest but did not get the sale the First Time Around because Grubbs wasn't conviced it was the lowest price he could get.  Everyone would be better served in this process if Grubbs knew what the price ranges were and told each dealer he called that he was going to $390 and would pay right now if he could get it for that.

For my money, I'd gladly pay a bit more knowing I will get better service, more knowledgeable staff and a no hassel warranty/repair/return policy than buying the lowest priced product from a company that offers next to nothing in pre/post sales support.

Grubbs,

I see what you are saying now and understand.  You give each company one shot to beat their competitor and don't go back and forth several times....right??
