Steel,
your kid sound;s like mine.he waits untill we get home and then ask me " dad who was that pretty blonde you was talking to at my school" i'm like dope!!!!!!!!!!
yeah maybe it will not be pushed to back to far for him to see.Hey maybe i'll do a reanactment but i'll need for it to snow again to be 100% authintic.
But honestly ya'll I was TICKED off at my self for doing that.
But I am amazed at how "crazy tuff" this thing is.It's awsome.

Bad thing that happened there BigDaddy! At least it had a good ending.
I have seen this type of thing happen a couple of times. Our usual hunting setup is that all the hunters (which can be from 4 to 8) gather for breakfast or lunch in the field. Typically everyone gathers around the food truck. Someone invariably leans his rifle against the truck, tyre or leans it against a small bush in front of the vehicle. With all the jabbering going on about buck seen or shot this is forgotten and the driver pulls off.... Well, in South Africa there is no snow, and no stock, scope or barrel will come off unscathed if crushed into a rocky patch of Africa!!!
For this reason my rifle stays on my shoulder or goes straight inside the vehicle.

Just as a balance to this story, there are limits to the S.S.'s durability. I dropped one that was still in the box from the top shelf of my closet, about 6.5 feet. I have laminate floors, so they aren't too soft, but not like concrete. As I said the scope was in the cardboard box and had the stock covers on. When I opened the box I found the objective housing had been deformed. Think round with flat side. It wasn't anything a little gentle reforming wouldn't fix and the scope was certainly serviceable, just dented. It just goes to show that how something lands makes all the difference. All in all I still think the S.S. is the best value out there. |

TYkemp,
It is not as loud as you would think but it is pretty loud. Its knocked just about all the recoil out of the gun. It's not the most hansome brake to look at but It works as or better than clamed.
