    Posted: January/20/2008 at 13:10

Can anyone explain to me the practical differences between the CBX and the CSX series scopes?  I know that the CBX is first focal plane and the CSX is second focal plane, but what does that mean from a hunting perspective?  Also, does anyone know of a website where you can examine the Kahles reticles?  Thanks for your help!

Looks to me like the big difference is 1st vs 2nd FP. 1st FP, reticle increase in size as you increase power, in the 2nd FP reticle stays the same size always. Here is a link where you can look at Kahles reticles http://kahlesoptik.com/index.php5

Which one do you guys prefer in a hunting environment and why?  I don't do any target shooting etc., so this will be simply used for hunting.  No shots over 400 yards.  I honestly don't do a lot of varmit hunting at night or anything, but I was wondering if the lighted reticle would help in a low light situation.

I will absolutely let you know which one I decide on.  I have it narrowed down to the following:
Helia C 3-12x56
Helia CBX 3-12x56
Helia CSX 2.5-10x50

Informative feedback requested!  Thanks!

www.google.com

Choosing the right search terms is the key to finding the information you need.

Start with the obvious – if you're looking for general information on Hawaii, try Hawaii.

In this case: Kahles

You found this site and was able to register, etc. I think your doing just fine!!! Thunbs%20Up

Thanks to all of my Opticstalk.com advisors I am the proud new owner of a Kahles 3-12x56 Helia C with illuminated 4NK reticle and a set of Kahles 10x42 binoculars.  All came off of the Samplelist.  I realize I could have upgraded on the Binoc's, but for $500 still a good set of glass!  Thanks so much for all of your patience and help!  Happy Hunting!

BIgDawg, Good  hunting with your new Kahles glass! BTW, what kind of rifle are you going to mount the scope to and what rings and bases are you thinking of using?
