You could go with the aluminum Talleys or a Ken Farrell base.

Talleys work great ..
As an aside , I also have a 338 Vanguard and use Leupold Dual Dovetail (uses same as Rem 700 bases) mounts and no worries there.

Ok one more question I have noticed that most 1-piece tactical scope base that is made for the Remington 700 long action will fit the Weatherby vanguard. Is this true for most bases, if I buy one that is made for the Remington 700 it will probably fit my Weatherby?
Thanks
Cliff

Hi,
I have chosen the Ken Farrell custom solid base. I have a .338 win/mag that I would like to sight in for now at 100yrds but would like the option to go out to a 1000yrds. What MOA should I use? I have an option of 20moa and I see that's fairly common. Thanks again Cliff |

What scope??
Typically, a 20 MOA cant will work out to 1000 yards, depending on how much "up" the scope has.

Any opinion on base set up would help a lot. Thanks again Cliff |
