I'm a newbie and my son is trying to purchase a scope for his .270. We are in Mobile, AL. and we hunt white tail deer in green fields and the woods and over clear cuts.... His budget is 250-300 dollars and he wants a scope with a nice zoom power and as much light enhancement as possible. He is looking at the Leupold Rifleman 3-9x50mm.....but we would like to get the best bang for the buck. Any help or suggestions would be truly appreciated.
Thank you for your help, Otis Da Whino |

Well dad, if you are willing to kick in another $100 dollars I would HIGHLY reccomend getting the Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40. I have one on my model 700 mountain rifle, which is my main whitetail gun up here in northern Michigan. The clarity and brightness is absolutey amazing! and I just can't say enough about that ultra-crisp z-plex reticle!!! If you're willing to kick it up a notch to $399 your son will have a scope that will serve him well for many years to come. At $399 this IS your best bang for your buck. Bricat

I tend to prefer the Bushnell 4200 but in the 4-16x40
