Hey, Ive already asked several of you guys your opinions but just thought this would be a fun topic...What rifle and scope combination would you purchase with a $1000 budget, be creative and use your money wisely.

I think I just did this. I put together a CZ 452 LR in Silhouette with a 3-9 Kahles AH with a TDS recticle and a Harris BRM-S bipod. Love it...just a blast to shoot.

Ruger 77, your choice of caliber, roughly $549. Zeiss Conquest $399. Warne rings to replace Ruger factory rings $50. But if I could I would beg, borrow or steal another $200 and replace that Ruger with a Remington model 700. Bricat

You're probably right about that, Ted! And if I keep making wisecracks like that, I doubt that very many of them will like me very much, either! Edited by RONK - January/01/2008 at 19:19 |

My shorty Ruger M77 Frontier 300 WSM @ $695 (rings included) + my 3x9 Elite 4200 @ $298!........Not a bad combo for a $1000!!................Comparatively speaking, my Ruger/4200 combo is outstanding on the range and in the field! Far better than Hillary Clinton or any other damned liberal democrat that could ever occupy the White House!!!!.....................
