Kind of hard to tell, but the cartridges in the buttstock holder appear to be way too long to run through that short-action 700.

It may just be an optical illusion, but those cartridges look 30.06- length to my eye...

I thought the rifle was a .308, Ron, but maybe I'm wrong.
Like Pryo suggested, it may be he loads 'em long.
(You know how those LONG throated factory Remington's are.) Wink

I was hoping swat would come on in and give us the SITREP on this fine looking rifle.

Oh, there's no doubt it's a short action rifle.  My point was that the cartridges didn't seem to be short-action,.308 length cartridges. The cartridge neck and shoulder are visible, so it's not a seating-depth issue. Maybe he put something else in the cartridge loops for photography purposes, or as I said earlier, perhaps it's just an illusion.
No matter, in any case, just an observation...

hello everyone.  Thank you for your positive feedback.  The rifle is in fact a .308.  The cartridges are federal gold medal match 168gr.  Chamber was brought in to .072 to match this round.  Harris bipod, 40x trigger, cheekrest ammo pouch from blackhawk.  And of course the paint job.  I do see what your saying though.  It does look like the round is to long.  But I promise you they are .308.

Thanks again.
Guns dont kill people. Proper sight alignment, breathing and trigger control does.

Who made your rail and rings? The rings appear to be Burris XTR's??
That's the 16x SS??

The rail was custom, by EGW.  It's a 15 moa rail with the XTR burris Rings.  You are correct again it is a 16x

That's a nice rig Swatop07, I bet it will really shoot!

BTW, ignore my last post. It's a vague reference to an unrelated... issue.  (Sorry for the "hijack".)

Not me, brother, I just tuned in to this thread right now.  I've been preoccupied, working in the garage on fixing the flux capacitor so I can return back in time for another wild Kama Sutra session with Cleopatra!Wink

Nice rig ya got there swatop!

Good lookin' rig. Bolts on the wrong side, but I've shot them that way too!!!
In the first Pic, I'm going to chastise all of you observers, you mentions the shells but not the rug rat with his or her hand on the table!!!  LOL  The kid likes daddy's toys too.    Love
