I was just pointing out the Bushnell's add copy was not correct as IOR has a scope with a 7x range.  Yes it is big and yes it is heavy and would make a great hammer in a pinch.  But for a rifle like a TRG-22 that is going to be taken to the range in a Pelican 1750 and shot of a bipod exclusively I don't think those two items are a problem.

for the price range they do have the widest magnification range and if I understand the posts here the glass is pretty decent?

Just wanted to point out that my focusing problem with the Bushnell 6500 had to do with  a misunderstanding of how the side parallax worked.  I have never had the experience of using one of these as all of my hunting scopes are of low power.  Thanks to the help of this forum in particularly Ilya I have resolved my problem.  This scope won't be going back......Doug

LDHunter,
You seem to know a lot about Bushnells and the Elite 6500.  You have sold me on getting one but I have one dilemma... what size objective?  I am going with the 2.5-16x but I'm torn on the objective diameter.  I have saved up enough money for either so the price difference isn't an issue.  What are your thoughts?  Or anybody's thoughts for that matter?

Oh this is going to go on a .223 Bushmaster Predator that I will use mostly at the range but may take it varmint/predator hunting in Montana from time to time.  Is there a significant difference between the two? Or is it negligible?

I got mine brand-new for about $625 on ebay.  Haven't seen any retailers offering them at that price yet.

Got mine mounted on my AR waiting for it's first trip to the range.  First impression of the 6500 2.5-16x50 is excellent though. (Not that I'm any kind of an expert.)

There definitely are some bargains to be found on Ebay.
I still prefer to spend my money with folks that I know I can trust. These guys here will go to bat for you, when you have a problem with the purchase. Piss poor chance of that from Ebay dealers. Unless it is something that comes from SWFA via Ebay auction.
