While I'm not looking at any new purchases, I have noticed an interesting "situation" when it comes to tactical optics.  It seems that you have a wide array of options when you look at the following price points:

1) Intro/Entry level -- under $350; Fullfield II Tactical, Bushnell 3200 10x; etc.;
2) Mid Level -- under $800; Nikon Tactical, Burris Xtreme, Bushnell 4200 Tac; etc.;
3) Premium -- from $1,000+; Nightforce NXS, Leupold Mark IV; IOR 35mm, S&B PMII; etc.

This leaves out a small but important price point of $800-$1,000.  I know quite a few shooters who want at least 16X who can afford $700-$800 but aren't willing or can't get to $1,000 for a "premium" level optic.

Are there any high quality, reliable tactical scope is this price range to consider.  In terms of importance, most desired attributes are glass quality, accurate adjustments, and durability.  Also, we're talking NEW scopes, not those already used or bought second hand.

Thanks!

IOR 2.5-10x42 FFP with MP-8 is probably the best tactical scope you can get for under a grand.

Some other options to consider that are in the neighborhood of $750-$1000:
Meopta Meostar 4-16x44 with Mil-Dot
Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x44 with Mil-Dot
Kahles 10x42 ZF95
IOR 10x42 Tactical
Sightron S3 6-24x50 with Mil-Dot

Those are the guys the buy the used scopes, or they get serious and move up in price range and get what they actually want.
