I was using a big sky earlier this fall, the Sll is a good scope with good optics and a pretty solid service and warranty dept. Tracking is one of their strengths and replacement warranty is pretty well known. Optics about equal with the varixlll.

Everything said is about the Sll. They are good scopes, I find the reticles to be a little fine for my taste but I like them on the heavy side. I was just commenting on trying the big sky.....sorry didn't mean to confuse. Their no repair replacement warranty is good but of late they have been fixing scopes rather than always replacing. If I had one real complaint about their scopes its they tend to run on the short side and sometimes don't fit longer actions without extension rings.

Not as good as the conquest, they are slightly less than a 4200 elite for brightness and resolution IMO. I would rate them about like a vari x lll.

They don't cost what a conquest does either. Ilya likes them and has done a some evaluating on them. Good scope for the $

well squeeze i need a silver scope now since my new gun is ss i like the silver scope look better than the black, so unfortunately the 3x9 4200 doesnt come in silver, but they make the above mentioned 2.5x10 in the 4200, but its almost $400, so im not sure what i will do i talked to ilya last night and he seemed to think that sightron is a pretty good scope he said the new big sky sII is comparable with the 4200 so i may wait till tax season to buy a scope.

pyro6999, the Sightron SII is a fine scope, equal to the Elite scopes and will serve you just fine. I have a Sightron SII, but not in this model, but I have only heard great reviews and the glass should not be that much different. You mentioned the Trijicon 3x9 on the sample list for 399.95. I will be honest with you. If it is in excellent condition and comes with a good warranty, my TR-22 2.5-10 Trijicon is the very best scope that I have ever seen, hands down, albeit I have never looked through a S&B, Gerhardt, USO and Nickel Supra to name a few. If you can pop for the extra money, that is what I would get and have a scope equal to any of the Euros. But, again, only if it is in excellent condition, with a good warranty and a return policy if it is not up to what you expect. Hope that helps. |

You won't be disappointed in the sightron Sll, but you know well that the Sll is in the middle class of optics and there are better ones to be had for a little more $...........now you need to talk nicely to Fly's MK4 first thing you know it will have a complex....need to be sent back for therapy
