Could someone point me to a glossary for optics on this site or possibly another site ? I would like the proper defination of optic words to get a better understanding, so I can evaluate quality optics. (for myself, not proffessionaly)

The quickest and easiest thing to do is a google search.

 

Also, pick up a copy of the book, How To Choose Binoculars by Alan R. Hale.

Thank You Bird Watcher ! I did a search, and I read Nikons glossary, and it helped some. These are some of the terms I really don't understand for binoculars. Fringing, chromatic aboration, vignetting, and there are many more that I can't think of right now. By your name, I assume you are a seasoned birdwatcher, can you give me some opinions on the thread I posted, mid priced bino's ?

Just do a google search of each word that you need some help with, there are numerous sources available.

some of the best definitions are through camera lens sources, which are more critical.
