Is there really a large diffirence between a Zeiss 4.5-14x44 conquest and the the SS 10x42. I know the zeiss will be a little brighter with the slightly larger objective and higher quality glass, but is it really a $350 diffirence? I don't plan on shooting at anything past 300yds, and mainly just punching paper, some varmit shooting. I'm not the best shot in the world, but I want something that will give me the opportunity to become better. Any suggestions would greatly help. Thanks

actually, i wouldnt be surprised if the zeiss glass is much clearer than the SS at all, i know my SS is clearer than the 3-9x40 conquest i compared it to.

kb01, save the $350 and get the SS or if you want a variable, look at a Nikon Buckmark or the Burris FF2 deal and get a free spotting scope and still save $300

What you get from the Zeiss:
1. Better optically 2. Variable power
Thats pretty much it. Put the Zeiss on 10X and the SS will do everything the Zeiss can do and then some. |
