Whether the difference is worth the money is a very personal choice. I would go with the Razors, but I suspect most people would be very happy with the Vipers.

One big thing is the Razor has wider FOV than the Viper. I haven't compared the two side by side; I own a Razor 8X42, I've only looked through the Viper. Both are very nice, but the Razor would be my choice as well. You'd be hard pressed to find a binocular that competes with it optically anywhere close to its price.
