I am considering a Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20X 50mm., fine crosshair reticle, for my new 600 yard target rifle. I realize it has a 1" tube, and 45 MOA total adjustment, but my action has a 20 MOA integral base. I know the glass is better than the Leupold VX III target scopes, but, is the tracking repeatable, and are the target turrets accurate ? (.250 MOA/click) This will be mounted on a 17lb. gun chambered in 6BR Norma, so there will be minimum recoil. Opinions from Zeiss owners or users please.

the fine cross hair isn't really a fine cross hair, and if this important you may want until they bring out the z plex varmit in the conquest.

I have owned and do own Conquest scopes, good gear. For a 600-yard gun, I might make a few other choices. The 45MOA is limiting, even with a 20MOA base.
For a few hundred more, I would recommend you look at IOR 6-24x50; better reticle, very good glass, more elevation (I think), and included rings that don't completely suck. Conquest is a good scope, IOR is a better scope. |
