I just thought it would be curious to see what optics people on this forum actually owned, particularly as opinions are so varied on many issues. Below is what I currently can lay claim to:
Riflescopes Kahles CL 3-9x42 with 4a recticle (no Multi-Zero) Kahles AH 3-9x42 with TDS recticle Leupold VXI 2-7x33 with plex recticle Leupold VXI 3-9x40 with plex recticle I am in the process of phasing out my Leupolds that were purchased while in high school/college. Rifle Scopes:
1) Bushnell Elite 4200 (2.5-10 x 40) 2) Kahles Helia C (2.5-10 x 50) 3) S&B Variable Hunter (2.5-10 x 50) 4) Nikon Monarch Gold (2.5-10 x 50) 5) Zeiss Diavari VM/V (2.5-10 x 50) 6) Leupold LPS (2.5-10 x 45)
The Zeiss is my favorite closely followed by the Kahles. The Leupold is my least favorite due to its tunnel vision effect. The S&B is great, but heavy !!

1) 3 Bushnell Elite 4200's 2.5x10x40' s (great value ...Rainguard works and clear glass )
2) Swarovski 3x10x42 ( awesome )
3) Bushnell Elite 4200 2.5x10x50 ( large but really clear)
4) 2 Bushnell Elite 4200's 1.5x6x36 ' s ( hate to see this one go from line-up ,,maybe the replacement will be a bit more compact )
5) 4 Browning 2x7x32 's (can get them cheap now and they work fine )
6) Browning 3x9x40 ( not bad at all, and can be had around $150 )
7 ) 3 Pentax Whitetail Unlimited 2-5 x20's ( I like the twilight plex reticle - bold)
8) Pentax Whitetails Unlimited 3x9x40 ( bold reticle )
9) 3 Leupold 2.5 x 8 x36 VX-III's ( I am not the biggest Leupold fan - overpriced,,but I got these from an 'estate' sale new for $200/piece .... wouldn't have bought'em for retail price, but really nice for what I paid)
10 ) Nikon Monarch 2x7x32 ( still in the box), 1.5x5x20 ( older one --works well) and a recent 3x9x40 ( had problems with 3x9x40 and Nikon c/s-will be my last one ..Quality seems to have died since manufacture moved to Phillipines) . 11 ) Bushnell Trophy 1.5-5 x32 ( not too bad and a decent buy --so far seems rugged enough )
12 ) 3 Bushnell Elite 3200's 2x7x32 ( exceptional value )
13 ) 2 Bushnell Elite 3200's 3x9x40 ( really good value )
14 ) Redfield 3x10x42 Illuminator ( jury is still out on this one ..on an AR15 that hasn't seen the range yet )
15) Weaver Grand Slam 3x10x40 ( nothing to fault )
16 ) Leupold fixed 2 pwr pistol scope ( looks good on Super Redhawk 44 and no issues in 10 yr.s )
17 ) A couple of Smith and Wesson 3x9 scopes ( one had the adjustments backwards --it's gone ,,the other one is on a 22 mag and seems okay--so far )
18 ) Simmons 22mag 4 pwr ..( if ya own a 22,, these seem to be everybody's first scope ..will replace it soon )
19 ) Sightron S II 1.5-6 ( still in box )
20 ) Weaver V 4-16 AO ( I like this one - good value)
BINOCS
1 ) Weaver Grand Slam 8.5x42 ( like these alot)
2) Burris Signature 8x32 ( light...football game binoculars )
3) Bushnell Trophy 8x42
4) Leupold Wind River 10x32 ( just okay )
4) Bushnell 1500 Elite rangefinder ( one of those things that once you have one,, how did you live without it?)
" Off the top of my head " , I believe that is it.. I have had quite a few more, but have since sold them with the guns they were on or gave'em away.

Yes Sir, Shooter, I believe they are GREAT optics. But I am the importer of these scopes, so naturally I am biased. I have seen the scope you are talking about. That particular model is no longer made. (1" Tube is now a 30 mm tube with mildot ret.) It is still a good scope, and I think the gentleman is selling it at a reasonable price. I think he is a former member of this forum whom was kicked out. I am not a supplier to Riflescopes.com , so I don't try to sell them here, neither do I sell them on ebay, but I try to answer questions that I see here about them as often as I can. There is also a 4-12x50 on ebay, that is a discontiued model , but , it is new in the box. That person also contacted me for info on the scope. It was given to him and he doesn't hunt or shoot. Good luck on the bidding. Great Forum, everyone, I enjoy it. Any specific questions, I'll be glad to answer, just contact me. Derek Edited by HuntMaster |

AS you can see on my webpage i own quite a few scopes and binoculars, mostly of them are rarely used.
So here is what I use. Some of them are in my opinion very good, and some will be switched out as soon as I find something else. For example there is nothing good or impressive by Nickel.........

Hello Technica, What was wrong with the Nickel? I was under the impression that they were good optics. I even pursued importing them in the U.S. until they decided to discontinue store marketing and began to retail straight from the factory. Derek |

Mechanics is rather poor , the sealings in the scopes is just done by thick grease and no o-rings so they are everything else than watertight and finally the optics is not impressive at all. But this is not the latest production, this is 70th and possible 80th production, how the recent and 90th production is , I don't know.

Thanks for the input, Technika. I almost bought one for the curiosity, but they were rather expensive -around 1300+ Euros= $ 1800 + U.S. dollars and that doesn't include the 14.9% customs tarrifs here. I think I will stick to my Seeadlers and Pecar Berlins. Derek |
