New Leupold MK2 6x18 mill dot or New Monarch 4x16 mill dot.For my REM 700P IN 308 FOR PAPER AND SOME DEER HUNTING 100 TO 500 YARDS .I KNOW THAT A 10X WOULD DO THE TRICK BUT MY EYES ARE NOT WHAT THEY ONCE WERE

I think either scope would be ok. I own leupold and nikon scopes and like them very much. I think the nikon's glass is a little clearer and sharper than the leupold though. if money is not an issue here i'd go with the nikon!

I have an older VX2 6-18AO and I am less than thrilled by it, I would look at the Nikon, I've handled them and was very impressed, I will probably buy one eventually for my hunting rifle. I have a LR/T 3.5-10X Illum mildot on my 700P and like it a lot but I would try the Nikon first given the price difference
