Please help me out. This new scope will be going on my .300 WM. I need some opinions between these few scopes because I have very little experience with them. Low-light capability is a priority, along with great resolution and durability. I'm sure all of these scopes would do just fine, but I want to get the best I can for the money. Thanks.
Kahles KX 4-12X50 Kahles CL 4-12X52 Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14X50 Swaro A-line 4-12X50 The Kahles and Swaro would be bought off the sample list for around $800. Also, what is the difference between Kahles CL and Kahles KX? Thanks a lot. |

DrakeTaker -
I can tell you I have looked through all of those makes (different specs, however) except the Kahles CL. My favorite of what I have viewed among this list is the Swaro A-line. Kahles KX would be second.
For additional guidance, you should check out the recent posts on the "Optical Ratings Scale" thread. I think all of these scope models are listed.

The new Tbone rating scale posted by Chris and others has pretty much answered this question. I will probably go with the Kahles CL

I own several Conquest scopes and like them allot (due to glass, warranty, and the capacity to send it to Zeiss and have low-profile target knobs put on for $50 each.) That said, kahles is a little better scope and the Swaro, a litle better still.
All are good scopes. I tend to bang my rifles around, and have never had a problem with e Conqeust. But, my next scope will probably be a Kahles for a light-weight .270. |

DrakeTaker, You're fortunate in that there isn't a lemon on your list so you'll be very pleased with whichever you choose. They are literally so close that your decision may very well come down to things like size, weight, appearance, and whether you can get a better price on one vs. the others.
Of those, I think the Conquest is slightly behind the other 3 optically, and among the Kahles and Swaro, they're so close that it's hard to call. If pressed, I'd have to give the slight optical edge to the Swaro among the bunch, but I haven't looked through a CL head to head with the Swaro to say conclusively.
According to Kahles, the CL supposedly offers a tad better resolution than the KX, but truthfully, most people would probably be hard pressed to see any difference. |

Thanks a lot everyone. I'm going to go with a Kahles. I'm licking my chops over this MultiZero feature on a CL but I don't know if it's worth the extra money to me. Thanks again.

One more thing you should know before you make your investment.Kahles warrants their products during the life of and as
long as it is owned by the ORIGINAL OWNER .Ask some questions about the scope you are going to buy. |
