Has anyone tried Nikon's Sports and Marine 7x50 binoculars?
How doe they stack up? A friend of mine asked me to recommend a binocular to use off a boat or an airplane, that would be under $300. Considering that he is not going to be on a particularly steady surface, I think 7x50is a good configuration, but I do not know a whole lot about these Nikons. ILya |

I gave a pair as a gift some years ago, but my impressions from that time are: Excellent quality in build and optics. Very sharp, slightly less bright than a Fujinon FMT-SX. The FOV is about standard for a marine 7x50; sharp zone was about to 70% from center. Not as bulky as a Fujinon Polaris and fits my medium-small hands better. Individual focusing. I think that the eye relief was not particularly long, but not short either. Foldable rubber eyecups. Made in Japan.
Overall, an excellent example and value of the type.
