Great story!  Thanks for sharing & congrats on your successful hunt.

With regard to the "blooding" ritual, I guess I'm in the minority of hunters who was also "blooded" after my first buck kill.  Down in Alabama, every hunter (regardless of age) WILL get blooded to some degree upon killing their first buck.  We also have a "testicle" ritual in that many first timers will also get to carry the testicles around in their two front pants pockets while in camp.  After a day, they can take them out!  Finally, if you MISS a deer (buck or doe) then you loose your shirt tail.  It's cut off and tacked up on the side of the cabin.  We have an entire exterior wall of the camp covered with various shirt tails...

Oh yeah, almost forgot, we also include beer in all these "rituals!!!!!"

Sounds good.  Let's try to make that happen some time in the near future, bud!

Ceyclonec, glad to hear you have something similiar. I was starting to feel like a barbaric out of Darkest Africa!

You better believe all this stuff goes along with beer and chasers and whatever else. We need some lubricant to make it go down!
