Monarch.  Made in Japan.  Buckmaster, I think made in China or elsewhere.

I went with the Monarch 3.3-10 x 44 and burris tactical rings....  Ordered the burris 2 piece tactical steel mounts... but SWFA has been out of them since April... so I am trying to decide Should I wait, order somewhere else, or find a diferent steel one piece mount... Suggestions?

If you still plan on shooting out to 900 yds, that scope will require some "up" help.

I would encourge you to go with a canted rail or at least 20 MOA or so to get you out to the ranges you were talking about shooting.

I can't recall the elevation of the Monarch you bought, but I'm guessing it's going to give you about 25 MOA of elevation MAX after you center it. You'll need a canted rail to shoot out to 900 yards with a .308 and that Nikon unit.

Did you get the Mil Dot??

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

Yes, It is the mil dot reticle.   Looks clear , but need the mount to put it through its paces....  Do you reccommend any bases? with 25 MOA?

Quick question...    You get an elevated mount to save your internal adjustments...  Wouldn't using higher rings accomplish the same thing?  Or is it because the mount is a specific height?  Sorry to put you throw scope basics 101, but I am new to long range precision shooting.

So, if my rings are the 1" medium, would a 20 MOA or a 25 MOA mount be better.  Should I go with lower rings, or does that negate the advantage of the higher mount?

Right, that means "roughly" you will have 25 MOA of usable elevation.

A 20 MOA rail, either the IOR that I recommended or the Badger Ufriend suggested, will suffice I would think.

Anything more than that MAY, I say MAY, give you problems establishing a 100 yard zero.
