Bill Bates, former Univ. of Tenn. Volunteer, and one time Farragut High School

(Home of the Commodores) football and track star.

I dated a girl in Knoxville that had Bill's Mother for a HS teacher @ Farragut.

Bill and I "practically" know each other.......

Thanks for sharing, David!!

Bill Bates is a legend!

when i was in high school i wore number 40 on the road and number 22 a home, i too was the suicide man on the kick offs then i played fullback on offense then outside linebacker on d. billys style was what i tried to imitate and it worked very well.

Always admired and respected Bill Bates.  The man played with heart and guts.  He was tough way beyond his size.

Considering the way alot of players are screwing up these days , the NFL is looking more and more as standing for "Not For Long"
