Hi, Folks.

I'm looking for the cheapest scope possible for my 8mm Mauser (M48). I can't afford anything decent. So, I'm wondering if you can help me pick the best among the dirt-cheap. This is
what I've found and would appreciate any opinions from the experts on this forum. I'm sure this is not a popular subject over here, but I have no choice. I have to stay in this price range.

I think 3-9 is the style that would suit me best. Although, I'm not sure if I can use this for close-range shots...like for a troublemaking beaver right in front of me. Also, I like shooting
paper targets, as well. I know practically nothing about scopes.

The specs on the Tasco look decent, but people don't say much good things about Tasco. I'm wondering if these can handle my 8mm rounds. My rifle definitely has a lot of kick.

Thanks for any help you may have to offer. Sorry, about the cheapo rookie question. I know I can't expect much, but this is all I can afford.

Thanks for the reply. There's a $3 difference between the two below. I think the second one might be discontinued. They look a little different but I'm not sure if there is a major
difference in quality.

can you maybe spend a little more, and buy the simmons WTE for 120, it will last a very long time, or a bushnell banner, or legend.

Hey Redneck,

I am with you 100%...in theory. Unfortunately, that's about three times more than I can spend. I bought an Iron-Elite mount, with Leupold 1" rings. In the future, I will buy a REAL scope
and this will all be behind me. For now, however, my ceiling is at 40 bucks (well, let's say 50 bucks) + shipping. The search continues...

well in that case, get the bushnell, they are most likely better than the tasco.

Thanks again, Cory.

At the risk of being thoroughly annoying, which one of those two Bushnell's would you pick? Or, which one is better quality?
