Hello,

I'm new to this sight and precsion shooting.I have a highly modifed ruger 10/22 that is a real tack driver (5shots in one oval hole @ 50 yds.). My problem is that my receiver is so far out it requires .033" shims under the rear ring center to bring my scope to zero. My calculations tell me I am 35 MOA off. Is there a 40 MOA mounting rail (weaver style) that can be purchased for this gun. I would like to buy good rings and change scopes for hunting once and a while and with this much distortion of the rail I will damage both rings and rail with each change.

Try taking the barrel off and re-installing it instead.

Dale,

Thanks for the suggestion,it made sense, however it didn't work.I would have gotten back to you sooner but I wanted to get out to my friends range to try it, the barrel fit did have some play and I shimed .003" and now have a snug fit but the point of impact only moved up 2 MOA. I guess I will just have a spare rail machined. Thanks again for the suggestion it was well worth trying and now at least I have I have removed the play in the barrel fit.
