Hi,
First time poster here. I decided on a Zeiss Conquest 3x9x40. I see that they offer different reticles:
a) #4 b) Zplex c) FCH
Which will be best for the deer hunting in 100 to 200 yards open and wooded areas? There may be occasional 100 meters practice/target shooting at the local range.
If it matters I have a Steyr SBS Tactical HB in 308.
Thanks

Welcome to The OT, Chris.
Definately not a fine cross hair for the deer hunting portion of your shooting.
I had and liked the ZPlex, but the German #4 is still my favorite hunting reticle. |

#4 and don't look back - it's a wonderful thing in the lowlight w/out blocking your view.

#4 or plex. And I just send my Conquest back to Zeiss to be fitted with a target turret up top. Though, if your max range is 200 yards, you'll do fine without one. But a BDC on that scope makes it a long-range piece of gear too.
