I want to put a Weaver K4 60 4X USA scope on a 7mm-08 cabine. Will it take the recoil?

I have a friend that has one on a springfield 30-06 for 40 years and it has not failed yet. It has ridden in pickup trucks all winter and done in a lot of coyotes so I would give it a try

Is da Pope catholic? Heck, YEA!!!
Dat old Weaver will take more punishment than the law allows. I've got 4 old Weavers and you can have'm when the Democrats get some sense. |

I have used two Weavers, a K4 on a 30-30 carbine and a V3 on a 12ga slug gun. No problems, whatsoever!

I have two MADE IN USA BABY! Weavers at Frank's shop right now, should get them back in a couple of weeks. I also have lots of Weavers, but I don't feel you'll think me strange for saying so. They're the best thing going, the old steel tube T series are my favorites, especially in fixed 10x with the fine crosshairs and small target dot, yikes that's a fantastic reticle. I've got a bunch of variables, a couple of Widefields, many those are fun. The little 1.5x4x Widefields are awesome for AR15s and plinkers.
Weaver made some freakin awesome scopes back in the day and if you can get your hands on one (or twenty) then by all means do it. Stay away from Ebay though because that's where I'm getting mine right now and I'm not interested in sharing...
The modern companies could learn a thing or two from the Weaver of the 1950s and 60s.....

I'm with Tucan on the Weavers. I believe Gawd himself made these things. It would be great if steel tube Weavers were made here in country. I have a couple of 2nd Gen aluminum tubes and they are great scopes, but they just don't have the "feel" of the steel tubes. Looking at the K4W on my Marlin 1894, it may be time for a tune up. Not bad for a free scope I got 30+ years ago. I don't bid on Flea Bay too much. Them prices get HIGH real fast over there. I have another auction site where I get mine and I ain't tellin'. lol Bought a K3W and 3-9W AO Widefields in excellant shape for $150 for the pair. HAHAHAHA!!!! I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with the affliction. I acutally have more scopes than rifles right now. |
