I have a Remington 700LTR in .223. I currently have a Leupold M4 3-10X40 LR/T scope on it. That scope seems too large (length) and heavy for that particular rifle. I was looking at the new Leupold M4 3-9X36 MR/T which is shorter. Any other suggestions for a shorter, lighter scope? Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion, Dale. Question (I hope this isn't too newbie ): would that scope be as "bright" as one with a "bell" (not sure if that's the right term). I've always wondered how those scope that are straight-lined at the front could gather light as efficiently as one with a "bell".

Brightness, although not a use in scopes, is fixed by the exit pupil. In this case the resolultion of the Nightforce is a lot better. -- and better reticles.

Hi, Bighouse. No, sorry, I'm just moving it to another rifle.
