I just bought a Long Action Savage 111.  I want a Nikon scope but their catalog does not show the ring mount length (Leupold does).  Concerned that I would buy a scope only to find it is too short in the ring mount area for this long action.  So, has anyone actually mounted a Nikon scope to a long action Savage and if so what model Nikon?  Chris can you offer any advice?

If you find that you have a length issue sometimes it can be solved by using off set rings or by using a one piece weaver style base and weaver style rings. Probably your best bet is to call SWFA by phone and tell them what rifle and what scope and let them find you something that will work.
