Couldn't find the post where someone tested one but Leupold is addressing the Chinese counterfeit scopes on their web page now. http://www.leupold.com/Counterfeit_2006_Sales.ppt You need Power Point or a clone to open the file Edited by tahqua |

Leave it to those communist bastards living in a state of pseudo-capitalism to continue to flood the world with a variety of fake products. Now rifle scopes. They really must have some low cost production facilities, given the fact that the number of scopes they are going to sell must be relatively limited, given the limited number of users and multiple other brands. It is too bad the Chinese do not make anything the rest of the world would want to copy, other than their food.

I did not forget them, as I was going to edit my post, but figured I would let it go.

These are already made there I If someone did counterfeit them they would be executed. After all, the PRC already reaps benefits from the brands identity. Until Leupold moves some production there they will be ripped off. Just one of the bad aspects of our global economy. Patent and copyright infringement do not count in China.

I have looked through 2 fake MK4's and they are $80 on Ebay UK from china.
I dont know why they sell them as fakes they should just sell them as a scope in there own right. To be honest I have never seen a better $80 scope in my life. |

Maybe the http://thehighroad.org/ people will do something about it but http://www.ebay.com/ sure hasn't. I have stated in posts before that ebay will do something about counterfeit Louis Vuitton purses but they just turn their heads on Leupold rip offs.

You sure have them going on that thread now, asphunter. The poster wants it burried but it's too late. I also posted the Leupold link for descriptions of the fakes. Your link to SWFA helps, too.

How's that "Counterfeit Leupold" thread going over there @ The High Road, Larry?? I mean, (cough) asphunter. Do ya need to hammer 'em down some more??
You owe that guy a "public" apology for all the things you said about him AND more importantly his departed step brother. That was despicable. I don't think you have the brass to admit when your wrong. Prove me wrong! |

Tahqua, knowing you as I do, you were trying to prevent someone from buying a bogus scope.
Your comments on the THR thread were NOT personal attacks on someone you didn't know. You shared some good intel on how to spot fake Leupold scopes and that's commendable.
Your a beloved member here that's provided great advise and friendly commentary since you logged on here.
Larry, on the other hand should be brought to task. Time to go to the wood shed, "sh*tbender" The hunter has become the hunted........... |

So, I'll take it your not man enough to admit when your wrong. Thought so. Thanks for the confirmation concerning everything I believed to be true about you, Larry.
No threat inferred in previous post either.
Not interested in buying the Leupold either, Larry. I thought you knew!! Buying a Leupold would get me kicked out of The Gang of 5 club.
Go ahead and have the last word Larry. You've taken it this far, might as well finish it.
I'm out.....
EDIT to add: Chris Farris has already authenticated the scope as legit. If you don't mind Larry, I'll take his "IMO" over your "hard data"......Now I'm out!

Chris is correct. After reading the Leupold notice several times over I can see I was wrong, way wrong. Since I have seen these rip offs at the local shows I will stick to making assessments in person. As for the personal attack, asp, you are way wrong. This just isn't going to happen in your book, is it.............
Oh well, I've got far more important things to be angry about. CT, thank you, you are quite generous Edited by tahqua |
