I have a Leupold Golden Ring (older) Var-X III 3.5X10X40 that I want to trade. I am looking for a varminter scope. I have been offered as an even-up trade a Burris Signature 8X32X44 scope. Do you think that these would be a fair trade? Both scopes are in excelllent condition and, I believe, are backed by lifetime guarantees. Your opinion is appreciated!

A great rifle is only as good as the scope on it!

there have been some issues with burris's repair performance noted on OT. you might want to look at the SWFA sale Nikon
Monarch 6.5-20 as it is an excellent buy (save more than 100) and you could probably sell your leupold on ebay for a break even. |

As long as the Burris is in good condition, take it and run. It may be a little much re magnification, if you've never used one before. Does it have the twilite aperture? If so, I had the same scope.

Thinkingman (a good thing to be) I have previously used a Tasco Mag IV 6X24, uisng the 24X on groundhogs with good results. Hopefully, this would be a taste of what is to come?
