Many people didn't believe in the internet when they first heard about it. |

While I suspect that a lot of it is just hype, I would reserve judgement until someone actually tests a Lotu-tec scope.
I would look at it the following way: new coatings from Zeiss: that is interesting and definitely worth looking at and comparing with other top notch scopes. new advertising campaign about new coatings from Zeiss: the usual marketing BS that was probably put together by people who can't tell a binocular from a microscope. On the good side, there is a paradigm shift in the world of marketing occurring right now. While it has not really touched the, typically, old-fashioned shooting/hunting industry yet, there is a strong movement toward cutting down on the bullcrap in a typical marketing campaign. Some day it will get here as well. ILya |

Now that is a close comparison. Good come back. One day, a scope maker is going to state that the light transmission through their product is like looking through the naked eye and its all due to to.........you fill in the blank. Scopes are darn good now and I am not against them getting better, but hype will always be there. And if that ad does not stink of hype, I do not know what does. Of course I agree with Koshkin, we will have to reserve judgment with respect to how the new coating affects the quality of the scope, that is obvious. |
