For the guys that like the two piece bases... With one of these you can be more true than the one piece base...

The problem with scope mounting is generally not the bases, it is the rings. Only three makers have rings that self align and rarely if ever will torque the scope.
Good Conetrol (also have windage adj) Better S&K (also have windage adj) Best Burris Signature (for which you can even get eccentric inserts if you really have a crooked drilled gun), combined with the double dovetail bases they are rock solid. IMO, I have yet to see any reason for a picaninny (or what ever) rails and these zillion $ "tactical rings" unless you plan to beat the target with the gun rather than shoot it. |
