I am looking at both scopes. The Kahles CL I am looking at is the 3-10x50, the Lahles C I am looking at is 3-12x56 30mm tube. I live in North Carolina. Scope is for Whitetails. We can hunt 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after. What do you guys suggest so that I can examine a rack under those conditions. I want to spend the least amount possible, but get a quality scope. Scope is going on a 300WSM. I will somtimes have a shot well over 300 yards. I have been looking at the Conquest line as well. Any suggestions? Any models? Any brands. I just mentioned two that have come recommended. I just don't know if I really need a 30mm tube and 56mm objective. I have just invested in a Nikon Monarch for another rifle, the 3.5-10x50 model. I may want something a little better.

look at the 3-12x56 for the best lowlight performance. kahles C. you shouldn't need sidefocus on the CL.
if you want great performance in line w/ the C/CL scopes, try the 3-12x56 (30mm tube) meostar from meopta. get a #4 reticle and enjoy the view. it's an awesome scope for under 700 bucks. IMO as bright as the kahles.
good luck. and happy hunting.

I just got done hunting since Friday with the C 3-12x56 with the Mil 2 reticle.
Outstanding scope! The reticle seems a bit fine and I was worried I would have a hard time picking it up in very low light. Not the case if it was at 6x or above Being a FFP it gets small on low power.. I hunted several years with a CL 3-10x50 #4 I would say the 56mm gets you a few moments more shooting time. I like the mil reticle and FFP personally. Danged good scope.. When I got home there was a box from Meopta for review. One of the items was a Meopro 3-12x56. Will be doing some back to back testing at low to no light. My house backs up to an empty field so I can test optics from the back porch out to 250 yards to the tree line. |

Just to clarify "One of the items was a Meopro 3-12x56."... that configuration actually does not exist from Meopta. If it was a MeoPro (1 inch tube), then it would have to be either a 3-9x42, 4-12x50 or 6-18x50. The only 3-12x56 model made is in the MeoStar (30mm tube) line. |

Yes I work for Meopta, but I am not here to sell Meopta. Just answering questions and providing reasonable insight.

You are right..
Sorry about that. The branding seems backwards to me.. BTW I tested the Meostar and Meopro 4-12x50 last night. The latter is the deal of the season for a great low light hunting scope! |
