I have notice that there are two model of this scope. One with the two gold ring and the other one with one gold ring on its bell. At the sample list, it was numbered as 56960 which cost $399.00. What i want to know is what is the difference between the two scopes. Which scope is the newer version that accept allumina glass? I find on ebay that the one with only one gold ring only cost $369.00. Thanks for the info in advance.

I think you are confused. The new Leupold VII is around $1500.

56960 is a Leupold 4-12x40 VX-II not a VII. No Leupold scopes have 2 gold rings, 56960 has one as do all other.

If your reference is to Leo's filters, they make several dia, but all have the thread pitch for leos. Are you referring to the 6x power Leo?

Dale, who knows? I went to the sample page and of course there are no VIIs there. None with 2 gold rings either. And none of this has to do with rimfire/airgun scopes. Pehaps a language issue with the Philippines ?

Sorry for the typo error. I was referring to VX-II 56950. As i look on to the picture, it seems that this scope has a two yellow ring on its bell. One in front of the adjustable bell and the other one at the back of the same bell. (look at link below)
http://www.swfa.com/pc-3477-86-leupold-4-12x40-vx-ii-riflesc ope.aspx
On the other hand i have also search at ebay on the same scope with only one yellow ring and only in front of the adjustable paralax bell. This one is also listed as item no 6894 at the sample list and the model no is 56960

the second "gold ring" you are seeing is the band on the parallax adjustment.
depending on the light it might or might not show up as a "gold ring" but it is not. A 4-12x40 VXII is a 4-12x40 VXII, if it's on the sample list or new on SWFA you are safe. What is on Ebay could be anything and unless the seller has high positive f/b, offers a 100% refund and/or is a big scope seller, I'd be inclined to go with SWFA. |

Thanks for the clarification. I already owned a 3-9x33 leupold VX-II and got it here in SWFA and got it just two weeks ago. I just let my cousin in th US buy it for me. Im just asking about the 4-12 model because im also interested to this model. I just like to make sure that i get the newer version that can accept illumina intensifier.

Be aware there 2 different 4x12s one with AO and one without probably why the price difference. Yes the intensifiers will fit as long as the dia. of the bell is then same--and they work very well.

Even in the AO model its parallax adjustable from 50 yards to inifnity. Not suitable for most airguns.
If you want a Leo these are the only that focus at airgun ranges: http://www.swfa.com/c-295-leupold-efr-riflescopes.aspx
Here are some other airgun scopes: http://www.swfa.com/c-201-burris-rimfire-airgun-scopes.aspx http://www.swfa.com/pc-967-184-bushnell-4-12x40-elite-3200-r ifle-scope.aspx http://www.swfa.com/pc-969-184-bushnell-5-15x40-elite-3200-r ifle-scope.aspx http://www.swfa.com/pc-1307-185-bushnell-4-16x40-elite-4200- rifle-scope.aspx
Then there are the low end, Barska, BSA, Simmons and Tasco
