I just bought a scope for my BLR and retire my peep sight. I went with a Leupold 2.5x20 fixed.

Nice gun and a nice scope. I have a Marlin in .45/70 and run some tooth jaring loads so I was thinking Leupold as well.
On a side note I put a Limbsaver on the Marlin WOW what a difference.

I use mine for deer hunting only and have flattened two whitetails so far,Its a great woods gun and with the fixed 2.5 on it should be even quicker than my peep sight.Im also bought the same scope for my T/C Encore muzzleloader and again will put my peep sight on that one to rest as well.

What kind of groups are you getting at 100 and 200 yds?

Welcome to The OT, slickheadhunter.
I read your profile and see that you too are a wood burner. |

Urimaginaryfrnd,
With my peep I can hold about 3 to 4 inch groups at 100 yards on a bench,my eyes are pretty good. The main reason for switching to a scope is to identify bucks from does out beyond 50 yards.Ive never shot at a deer beyond 100 yards,in fact Ive never even seen a deer beyond that around here where I live.
Cheaptrick,
Yes we have been burning wood for 13 years now and a year ago bought a new Woodstock soapstone stove(Fireview). This stove is terrific.
Take care |
