Is the only difference between the BR and BL ranges of Leica just the finish on the binoculars??
BR are rubber and BL seem to be leather.
Nothing internal or to do with lenes or coatings??

Thank you.

I almost bought a 10x42 BL leather, because they are the best looking binoculars these days. The differences between BL and BR were, two years ago,

1. Leather vs. rubber

2. the BL does not have the thumb ridge on the underside.

3. the  BL eyecups have a slightly larger rim, as far as i remember

4. the focuser is slightly different in BL because the two pieces are joined almost seamlessly, in the BR there is a smooth edge 2 mm wide between the two

5. the BL seem to have a smoother focuser right out of the box, the BR focuser takes a bit of breaking in

6 the BL is a couple of ounces lighter

7 the BL is kind of a better looking, but I’ve been told about one that peeled off in the heat and steam of Brazil forests.

8. the BL feel slimmer (they are slimmer) in the hand.

I bought the BR because of durability concerns
