That's me, too. Though I have dies for 9mm, .45ACP, .380ACP, I don't do it anymore. The quantity prices on this stuff is hard to beat. Same goes for the service rifles, quantities are pretty good deals. I guess a progressive press could change this picture. Edited by tahqua |

Reload a lot of handgun, mostly .44....use a dillon 550b....saves a lot of time; only way that I can afford to shoot much. Reload some rifle, 308 & 45-70. |

there for a while i thought about starting to do pistol reloading but if you own a 9mm or a 45 or a 40, its almost a waste of time unless you are banging round like 3-4 times a week, then i can see it of if you hunt a lot with a wheel gun, 480 500s&w 454 big stuff like that i can see doing.

I like to do my own reloading for basically three reasons (none of them particularly profound or unusual.)
I primarily load for three calibers.

No, but recently ordered a Lyman T-Mag II press and a MEC 600 Jr. shotshell reloader, so look out for a lot of questions. I have already warned pyro6999 and Rifledude, that the questions will come a flying, so look out.

I used IMR4350 very successfully with 180gr. pills for a very fickle .300 Win Mag. Classic .300 Win Mag powder!! |

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

I like 4350 a lot for the magnums. I have had very good luck with H4831, also.

Ive used IMR 4064 (.308) in an effort to increase the range of the .308, from what I read an see many do.. In my 10-FP 43.5 gr. flattens the primer, works on the bolt too much for me.. Gun shoots too good to beat-up on it ..4350 loads showw no sign of pressure, might have a tight chamber.

I just looked at a my old .308 load and I was using 44 gr. with no problems. This is when I had time to load for an HK 91 and I didn't have any problems. Good thing you were looking at the primers. My Sierra manual shows a max of 44.9 gr for .308. Go figure, maybe it is your chamber. That 4350 is a bit slower so take care when loading up. I did have good luck with the 4895 for .308 as well as for the 30.06 Garand. Burning rates come into play more with the self loaders, though.
