Heres some pics of my new Eotech 553 model. This pic shows the built in ARMS riser mount throw levers. I like the way the throw levers are recessed in to avoid getting hung up on clothing or gear.
The ARMS mount works great with my upper. There's no tension adjustment built in, but it grabs on a holds my optic very well. It also goes right back to a perfect "zero" each time I take it off and put it back on.
Flip side.

This is the "Circle of Death" unit with the 65MOA circle and a 1 MOA dot in the center.
Great optic. I'm getting along better with the buttons now too.

thats a nice looking stick. I personally don't own an EOTech, come to think of it I have never looked at one... Although I was always impressed by the location of the controls.
one question though, does the fixed front sight interupt your sigh picture? |

When you look through the optic you see the FSB, but with the riser type mount, the circle of death is above the top of the sight by about an inch or so. Actually, the bottom quadrant tick is sitting on top of my front sight pin when I have a good cheek weld.
But, the cool thing with this optic is when you move your head side to side, the circle will move too. If you see the circle, you may rest assured that you'll hit what your aiming at, regardless of head position.

Nice stick, Joe!!
I never thought I'd actually own a Eotech, because I always prefered Aimpoints. You like the Aimpoints too, yeah? But, the more I use the Circle of Death, the more I like it. |

Very Cool Eotech, looks like heavy duty hardware. I have been using a microdot on my target pistol that has the circle and dot option and I am liking it more all the time.

Yea I know first and EoTech on my SHTF stick and now a Glock as my CCW. I hate to admit it but I really like the 65 moa ring also. And they are built like a tank. I have had no problems with heat or with it getting banged around. I fugured Mithran would post in big bold letters I TOLD YOU SO. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the open lense I still think you will get flash off it and there is no convient way to protect it with out the full slip on cover |

Funny thing is I don't have one, yet!
But I will. Welcome to the darkside, they look good on those rifles.
I bet a few layers of cammo netting taped to the housing in front of the lens will cut down on that reflection your worried about Joe. Maybe it will maybe it won't. Worth a try. |
