Anybody ever handle one of these, looking at the 8x42.

Any feedback would be great.

Hunting, low light clarity most important,

Obviously $$ is a concern.

Simmons parent company is Meade Instruments. Weaver & Redfield are also in this family. Meade has made excellent telescope optics for many years. The Simmons binocular line is somewhat small & inexpensive. As far as I can tell, the roof prism binocular you mentioned is not phase corrected. Since money is a concern look at porro prism binoculars such as Bushnell Legend, Nikon Action Extreme, Pentax PCF WP II, etc.
Look at the left side of this web-page & scroll down until you see the Trade-Ins heading, & below it you will see The Samplelist. Click on & when you get to the Samplelist click on the heading of Binoculars & check out the inventory at SWFA as another option.
Also, on page one of this Binoculars Optics Talk Forum, at the top of the page, look for the heading 'Important Topics' & click on line #1 "Bushnell Rain Guard", I think you will find it helpful.(Bushnell Legend 8x42 Porro Prism)

There are no Simmons binoculars that are useable. If they are for a short while, think of them as disposable BIC lighters. Your money would be better spent on a 7x35 or 8x40 porro prism Nikon.

If you buy garbage like Simmons don't come back complaining.
