Since my rings have windage adjustment, it seems like I should "zero" my used scope, so that I know that I'm not almost out of adjustment, before mounting it.  Does anyone have advice on this?  Do most scopes have a zero indicator or method of doing so, other than counting clicks from one stop to the other and going halfway back?

To be certain, you pretty much have to count clicks.

If you are careful you can count turns, but it's just about as easy to count clicks and know you are centered.
