I have a scope that I like. Konus.
It has capped elevation and vindage turrets. The adjustments have well marked dials and good clicks. I could not pull or push the dials to return to zero after sighting and adjusting. However, there are two small Phillips head screws on top of these adjustment turrets. Could it be that if I loosen them I could return the graduated dials to 0? Thank you. (No instructions available for this model)

Generally there are three hex screws holding the dial to the internal column. One would loosen the hex screws pull up the cap turn it to zero then press it back onto the column. Some scopes have a single screw above and the connection is like the teeth of a gear which is a bit less clumsy. Don't forget to re-tighten the hex screws once reset. Its good to check that you did not inadvertently change the zero by test firing after the zero is reset.

Thank you for answers.
I did email Konus. I don't want to loosen the two small screws and have the whole thing flying up in bits and pieces, but it would make sense to have that as a way to return to zero. On an older scope from the 50s i can loosen two screws, lift the turret, return to zero, tighten the screws, and it's done. |
