Wondering the dates leupold made  (GMG) gun metal gray scopes.  Looking for a VX 111 3x5x10x40mm with B/C reticle.  I think they began in 2005 with two, the VX 111 3.5x10x40mm & VX 111 4.5x14x40mm.  They are sure hard to find.  Thanks

Thanks for the gratuity scrumbag.  I know the letter at the end of leupold serial number is the date of manufacture.  So far I've seen the letters P (2005) thru the letter U (2009).  They are so hard to find I was wondering if was the last date they were made.  Apparently not many were made.  There was a nice VX 111 4.5x14x40mm NIB on evilpay.  Winning bid was $1050!  For me the lowest setting 4.5 is to high for close shots on deer.  Want to mount it on a SS Rem 700 '06.

I haven't seen them around for at least 10 years.

I was wrong on the previous post about Leupold dates.  In 2005 the letter in the serial number is N not P.  The P indicates 2006.    Need new googles I guess.  Still wonder if that was the last date Leupold made the GMG VX-111's.  I asked Leupold but never got an answer.  Top secrete I bet.  I'll find one eventually I hope.    Rob
