I've not fired it in a while... took it for a stroll today...21 inch Lothar Walther barrel, rifle built to "match" tolerances...
I used to say if I could only have one gun, it would be 30-06... later I decided .45i8 Lott would be my best choice. NOW... the .50 is my favorite... nothing it won't kill (included armored vehicles), reasonable/acceptable recoil, superior accuracy.  I love this gun...

Was this a custom build?  21 in sounds rather short for a long range rifle barrel but should make it very portable.

FYI:  rifles from .35 to .50 cal including .375H&H, 458 Lott and 50 BMG are now legal Iowa deer cartridges where its illegal to shoot them with say a........ .243,  .308 ,  30-06 etc.  Go FigureWhistling

Yes, it was built for me.  Has a special serial number... It's not fancy... it's highly functional.  Easy to disassemble/assemble/maintain, can be disassembled and easily carried in my "bugout bag".  Not designed for "extreme" long range... extreme damage at short, medium and long range.

30-06 is not "enough"???  Wow...

Sounds like an interesting build. What optic did you go with?

I used to have an Armalite AR50. Loved to shoot it. Felt like E.F. Hutton at the range. But sold it since all the ranges around here band it.

Love the Armalite 50.  One of the tactical shops in Huntsville got one of the first ones on the market and had it at the range I used to go to.  They were letting everyone at the range, who wanted to, shoot it(there were like 3 of us other than the gun shop guys).  Range only went to 200 yards, but very fun to shoot.  That range still allows any LEGAL firearm and ammunition (but not AP or Tracer).
I mostly shoot in my "back 40", but sometimes at my Tennessee range.

I shot a few M2s (my favorite) and a couple of the semi Barrett .50 cal. and the .50 cal. Barrett bull pup.

A friend of mine got one of the Barrett semis in his shop, and I had money burning a hole in my pocket. I thought real hard about buying until I realized that unless I traveled for a couple of hours, I couldn't shoot it any further than 350 yards. It just didn't seem to be worth it so I let it go.

I, too, have fired the M2's and M107's and 82A1's... no matter the distance, it was always "worth it".  Always...

Correct.  Simplicity of design, minimum moving parts, excellent trigger, titanium firing pin, built-in rail...
