Thinking about a 3x9 40mm FFII TAC with Burris Tactical rings for latest AR build. Have always like Burris products. The price is right. Looked at Leupold 3x9 PR and didn't think it offered anything other than mil-dot over the Burris. What height rings for flattop AR?

Opinions please

.

TIA

I have this scope on an AR.  Great working scope.  I have WARNE xtra high rings.  They are referred to as Flattop rings.

Only problem... I almost ran out of elevation on the way down.

Hello Fellas.

Some people won't know what a Marine "SAM-R" is so here's the SITREP on that.

Squad Advanced Marksman Rifle.

A 20" barreled AR-15/M-16, with a stainless barrel, and a Leupold Mark 4 3-9x36mm (typically) on it.

Not to be confused with a Designated Marksman Rifle, which is typically a M-14.

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

Badger is the bes setup. I have an Armalite one piece rings and base but find the screws are brittle and prone to break causing major problems. Warne makes steel rings and bases and I like the ones I've seen. You need ultra high or you need some added type of riser on the base to increase the height of the base. The ARMS bases and mounts are good quality and well designed. Just realize these guns were made to sight down a carry handle so you need to get the scope up in the air which is opposite from the norm.
