I just bought a Bushnell Banner 3-9. I just zeroed in my rifle and the scope works great, but there are no index dots on the scope to reset the adjustment ring back to zero. The user manual says that feature is not available on all of their scopes. So the question is, can I unscrew the adjustment rings on the turrets and make my own marks to set them at? Or would future adjustments made from those “homemade marks” not be accurate? Thanks.

A banner is not a scope that is meant to have adjustments made to it over and over. It is designed as a set it and forget it scope. If you wanted a scope to make lots of changes in the field based on shot distance and other environmental changes, you chose the wrong scope I am afraid.
