so are these basically  the same  scope?

http://www.swfa.com/pc-8150-204-burris-4-16x50-black-diamond -30mm-rifle-scope.aspx

http://www.swfa.com/pc-5205-121-new-pentax-4-16x50-lightseek er-30-rifle-scope.aspx

obviously  the   housings are  are  different  but all the  specs  are about the same

how  are these as far as bang for the buck?

would one of these be more  desirable than the other?

Not in my opinion pentax lightseeker-30 are made by burris but the glass is not the same.

The Multi-coatings are made to a formula developed by pentax some time ago. I would

give a very slight edge to the burris.

As of 2-3 years ago, they are the same.

Before that, they used the same mechanicals with different glass.

Great info Koshkin, I did not know they went with the same glass now.

I have seen the pentax offered at a better price in some places, this might

be the better value on some of the models.

Yes I remembered reading that one but thought that pentax still used there old formula of coating.

The last pentax lightseeker 30 I observed had the old glass I have not seen the newest ones.

I wonder why the pentax scopes are more affordable in some places?Maybee just to get them

out and establish popularity like the burris.
