Friend of mine has or had a 99 in 308. Sweet rifle. I could see why it would be a favorite for hunters. One day at KCR range, a guy had a 99 on the line. There was a cease fire called, and for some reason he stuck a cleaning rod in the barrel to indicate a safe firearm during the cease fire. When the line went hot, he forgot to remove the cleaning rod. Well it wasn't pretty when he touched the 99 off. The shooter wasn't injured, but the extractor came out and hit the range officer in the stomach area. Fortunately for the RO there were 2 Loonyville Fire Dept. EMT's there and they realized he was bleeding out internally and helped save his life. While it wasn't good for the RO, I was impressed that the shooter wasn't hurt.

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

Carl Gustaf 1900 This is the Deluxe model. In 1975 I saw a few of these in a gun store. Grade I was $150. Grade II was $250. Grade III was $350. They were nice. But, of course, I couldn't afford one. I have never seen any since. |

Colt 3 5 7 Magnum The better finished Trooper from the fifties until about 1960 when it was discontinued.....had the same trigger lockwork as the Python...so did the Troopers until 1969. It's identical to my Colt Officer Model Match....except mine is a 22 LR with the Python trigger. |
