Greetings. I have just purchased a savage 10fp 308 cal and am looking for input on lighted reticle scopes. I have it narrowed down to a couple or so but am open to suggestions and input if you have any experience with them. Time is somewhat of an issue as I will need to order the scope asap. Price range is as alway an issue. $200-450max. 1 Simmons Aetec 3.8x12-44mm ill. mil dot 2 Simmonns 44mag 6.5x20-44mm ill. mil dot 3 Burris Fullfield II 4.5x14-42mm ill. ballistic plex Input appreciated |

Simmons Aetec 3.8x12-44mm ill.
That would be my choice of the three. Another to consider is the Elite 3200 or 4200 with the fire fly reticle. Edited by Brady |

Why the Aetec over the 44mag?

The aetec has better lens coatings. It has the Aspherical lens system which is the best Simmons has to offer. If the power difference isn't a big deal for you go with the Aetec no doubt.

I am not aware of any Aetec scope with a mil-dot reticle. Is it listed anywhere?

Any Burris beats any Simmons any day of the week.

No the Aetec is not available in Mil-dot.
As far as a pure optic stand point yes the Burris would be better than a Simmons. For the biggest bang for your buck I would go with the Aetec. I took that into account when I chose it over the Burris. Kayak can save over $200 and get almost as good of a scope by going with the Aetec.
