Hi, I have what I am sure is a dumb question.... I just received a (brand new from SWFA) SS10X42MOA scope and was mounting it up and noticed the turrets appear to be swapped. The top turret is marked "bullet impact-> R" and the side turret is marked "bullet impact -> UP" uhmmmm. isn't this backwards ? by design ? I've never had a scope what wasn't elevation on top turret. I might get to take it out and check this out this weekend and see whats up - but I happened to be on forums and it it weekend so no one to call to confirm and thought why not post... |

When the “up” turret is on top of the scope, on which side is the “right” turret?
Just checking the first obvious thing. |

Don't sweat it. I mess with scopes more than most and I've done the same thing recently: I received a scope for review, slapped it onto a rifle and headed to the range.
When I got there, it took me a few minutes to realize that the windage turret is on the wrong side of the tube. ILya

It happens. I remember as a kid turning the knobs on a scope and being frustrated because I got no adjustment - took a while to realize they were caps covering the adjustments. That was a long time ago.

Many people would have logged off and never said a word about it ever again. I commend you for coming back and admitting to it. It happens, glad the issue wasn't the scope, your issue was easily addressable - so: win!

Lol, I would never have thought to ask that question, yet so obvious when I read it. Ah, the hazards of rear focus.
