I had to send it back😣. It wouldn't fit between belt loops on any of my pants, and I despise having a floating holster! Stand up seller though, he is shipping me one his smaller profile holsters, in an even trade. I'll post pics as son as it comes in.

Got to playing around with my pistol and magazines this morning trying to figure out the problem. It seems the wc has a smaller catch hole, that doesn't allow the mag to sit high enough. When I press up on the bottom of the mag, it catches the slide stop perfectly.

I love my Kimber, but hate to carry it, because I don't want to scratch it up.
For my running around on the ATV, or deer hunting, or trucking throough the woods, I usually take my G17. Rumor has it they will cycle a rock. I want a RIA 10mm 1911 for hunting carry. Maybe one day. Probably end up with a G20 SF instead. |

You could also try a Tripp research or a CMC power mag. They are both great mags

What wilson mag did you get? If its one with a metal follower just bend it a bit so it engages the slide lock better. If its a 47d with plastic follower stick some chewing gun on it. ;)

Picked up another one! This time I got a Rock Island tac II.
The things I like: Extended ambi- safety, very aggressive aluminum grips, fully adjustable rear sight and fiber optic front sight post. Price Things I don't like: it only came with one magazine! I thought I had fixed the one mag problem this past weekend by picking up a Wilson combat 8 round for it. But the be mag will not engage the slide stop on the Rock. It works fine in my (wifes) Springfield. I would just switch one with her, but hers only has 7 round mags for now. |

I was pretty impressed with it, especially since I am by no means a handgun expert. At one point I was routinely holding a slow fired magazine into about 3 bullet width hole at 12 yards.
The first mod will probably be an ambi safety, but really like the rest so far. |

My first 1911 was a mil spec SA and I loved that gun. Now you can slowly turn it into a gun you'll love. If you get a new grip safety, have it done by someone who knows what they are doing! That was the one modification I had done to mine that could not be undone, and I'm pretty sure the idiot that did it used a chainsaw and sledge hammer. Lesson learned: only use good smiths! For the money, they are awesome guns.

I finally picked up a 1911. Ended up buying the Springfield mil-spec, which is of coarse a full size model. It shoots extremely well and has had no issues with around 300 rounds thorough it so far.

DITTO.... if you want to get one and not tinker, the DW is the best I have handled in that price range. |

I run wilson mags in my Kimber as well. I don't think there is a finer magazine for the money.
