Well, the Eagles now have 4 titles in fact.  3 from when they were just called "Championships" and one SB.

Speaking of ancient history, the Cowboys last SB was way back in the last century, in 1996.  That was so long ago that people were actually wearing Zubaz, Hillary Clinton was able to walk down the sidewalk without collapsing from a spasm, and Al Gore had not yet invented the internet.

But how have things trended since then?

While the Eagles have won 13 playoff games since 1996; they should have not one but 2 superbowls - one was stolen because of the well documented cheating of the Patriots in 05.

During that time the cowboys have won 2 lowly wildcard games. And of those 2, one can be attributed to an eqregious non-call for game changing PI by Hitchens against Pettigrew.

Cowboys Super Bowl appearances - 8         Eagles - 3

 Cowboys beginning - 1960                         Eagles - 1933

Cowboys Super Bowl Championships - 5      Eagles - 1

Cowboys longest dry spell - 22 years           Eagles - 84   OK, not really fair... Super Bowl did not start until 1967... so........................................Eagles - 50

Wonder what the stats will be in 62  28 years???  Better???

HOWEVER... The Eagles DO have some "braggin' rights'...

the funny thing is, when the draft is held in Dallas this spring and the Reigning SUPER BOWL CHAMPION Philadelphia Eagles are introduced,  the Eagles back up TE Trey Burton will have better stats for completions in the super bowl than either Romo or Dak.  Bucky

It is nice to see the "Boys" playing like a contender team, again.  It has been a LONG dry spell.

9-1 HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS?!?

9 consecutive wins is a statement. A real statement to the ones that said the bengals would beat us. Then the eagles. Then Green Bay. Then the steelers. And then Baltimore.

Next they'll come up with some reason Baltimore isn't the best ranked D and how we just swept the entire AFC North.

I'll sip on some tea over here.

The number 1 run defense in the league held Ezekial Elliott to only 97 yards… tough day...

I just watched Tony Romo turn over the Dallas Cowboys to Dak Prescott.  His speech caused me to reflect on what I've seen of Tony over the years and my jaded vision of his performance.  I called him the "reincarnation of Danny White"... I regret that, I was wrong.  He may have had Danny White's luck, bad, but he did not have his poor attitude or limitations of heart... I apologize for being a poor fan, a poor judge of character, a poor observer/analyst of what was taking place.  Sometimes, we have to have someone to blame for disappointment in "our team's" play and Tony Romo was easy to blame when the Cowboys lost... but it was wrong.  Just look at his record... with all that has happened, he is STILL one of the best quarterbacks with one of the best records in the league.

Tony Romo is a football hero in my book and one of the biggest men in the game and I will never disparage him again.  I wish he would stay with the Cowboys, but know he cannot.  His coming departure is clear... he wants to go somewhere and win... the Cowboys will rue the day.  I wish him well and will be cheering for him when he wins the Super Bowl.

I'm pretty sure I read he told his former coach, Dan Mullen, looked up to Florida's Tim Tebow. Hopefully, Dak will imitate Timmy's morals and not his throwing motion. Wink

The win over the Steelers was good... Cowboys need to work on consistency, though.  Not a great game, but interesting.

Yeah, I'm pretty down on the NFL myself. Just can't generate any excitement for it anymore.

I stopped being a Cowboys fan about 5 years ago. I finally had my fill of Jerry Jones and can't muster the enthusiasm to root for his team.

However, I am a Dak Prescott fan. Not only is he a great athlete, but from all accounts, he's a class act. Multiple people from my alma mater have reported interacting with him and his father during game weekends when he was playing my team, and to a man, all were left with the impression that both are humble, gracious, kind people. A buddy of mine knows someone who knows his family well, and he was told that the Prescotts are upstanding people.
